FEDERAL EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH PROGRAM
The OPM Veteran Outreach Office, in partnership with AFEB and the Warrior Family Support Center (WFSC), Fort Sam Houston, is initiating, “Federal Employer of the Month” program to provide a forum to spotlight and showcase Federal agencies and their veteran employment opportunities to our Wounded Warrior population. Unlike traditional career or job fairs, the program design, would allow on a rotational basis, a career booth and solely tap first hand into some of the qualified and skilled service members seeking opportunities to enter into the Federal workforce, and better position your organization to increase its veteran hiring numbers. It also would allow our warriors to show you their qualifications and skills in demand for your organization and their dedication and commitment to continue to serve both you and the nation through public service. The program can be linked to one of the five comprehensive marketing strategies in the Government-wide Recruitment and Strategic Plan for FY2010 – 2012, in line with the Veterans Employment Initiatives. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OPERATION WARFIGHTER
The Department of Defense Operation Warfighter (OWF) Program is a non-paid internship initiative for wounded, ill and injured service members who are convalescing at military treatment facilities across the United States. OWF is designed to provide participating Service Members with meaningful activity outside of the hospital environment that positively impacts wellness and offers a formal means of transition to return to duty or enter the civilian workforce.
